Dancers
are encouraged to substitute and 4 count move they
wish here AS LONG AS they remain on the same spot on the floor and end up
with the weight on the RIGHT foot.
Phrasing Note: Dancin', Shaggin' On The Boulevard is phrase as
follows: 4 repetitions each consisting
of a 32 count "chorus", a 4 count "tag", and a 32 count
"verse". These 4 repetitions
are followed by three 32-count "verses" to fade. (This is based on the radio edit, the album
mix has an extra verse, and the dance mix is different still. bottom line
dance to the music and you should have no problems). To match the dance with
the music perform the 32-count dance, followed by the 4 count tag,
then the 32-count dance again. Repeat
this pattern 4 times. Then do just the
32-count dance till the music fades.
In other words: ABA - ABA - ABA - ABA – AAA. If done to any other song
(including the practice songs) just do the 32-count dance.
Style note: once the dance is
learned keep al the steps rather small and tight, but with plenty of flair
and arc when moving the feet around each other.
